Motorbikes can be rented at numerous locations, In Kuta, often every 50 feet or so along the road.

Due to supply/demand, you should have no trouble getting an automatic for rp25,000/day and a standard for rp20,000. And if you want to negotitiate, you can squeeze an extra rp5,000 less out of the poor guy, but really, have a heart, the price is crazy low already.

My opinion on insurance:
I never take insurance for the following reasons:
1. I think it is fake. If you put a serious hurt on the bike, I am certain you will pay, despite the "insurance".
2. Fix any damage you cause yourself before returning bike to renter. The repair costs at a motorbike repair shop are so low as to be insignificant. I have done this several times with motorbikes or cars I have rented in Bali and then "dinged".
