I specifically said your home license is irrelevant "IN BALI".

You obtain your International Driver's License in your home country. Thus, your home country license is relevant in your home country.

For example:

1. I once got an international license in America. I got the motorcycle endorsement stamped even though I did not have a motorcycle license in America by talking the agent into it. Because of this, in Bali I was good to drive a motorbike, Thus, "my home license was irrelevant".

2. If you have a motorcycle license in your home country, and the agent forgets to stamp you for motorcycle on the International Driver's License, you are NOT good to drive a motorbike in Bali. You can show the Bali policeman your home license all day and he will still fine you. Thus, the "home license is irrelevant".

3. You can go to a Bali police station and they will write you out a temporary motorbike/car license for the period of your visit. They don't require you to have a motorcycle license from your home country, they just require some money. Thus, "your home license is irrelevant".
