to supply Identity document (KTP) which he will already have being Indonesian. If married, a copy of those documents. Often a copy of schooling certificate, definitely a letter from employer giving permission to be away from job, and confirming a job will exist on return. Cost is about 600 to 700,000 rp (Or was when we did it). Once Indonesian Passport is applied for it can take from 5 days to 5 weeks! so it is often good to use an 'agent'... your friend will know of one.
Then for the Aussie visa... applications are now being processed in Denpasar I think.. cost is about 700,000 with everything taken in to account. If a medical is required, add about 1,000,000.00 rp. Don't forget to allow another 1,000,000.00 for transport to and from embassies. Departure tax is 100,000, and fiscal tax another million. You will have to provide a letter of sponsorship, saying you will adhere to all visa conditions, pay all costs of accommodation, food, travel and entertainment, with special mention about paying all medical costs. We used to supply a copy of our Assett/Liability statement to back up any financial queries. It is important to supply as much info as possible first up, as the application fees are NON refundable. Aussie visa is mostly for 3 months on a first visit.. visa is usually available after 7 days... but we once got one on the same day we applied..!! go figure... your friend will have a ball.. first palce we take our visitors to is a shopping mall, it blows them away...LOL.
