Hi Guys,
Just a note about some of the bars next to Sami & Susies outside the Legian Beach Hotel. The one to the direct left - facing the beach (towards Kuta) is called Abduls Bar.
He is a great bloke - been working on the beach 18 years, 3 kids and struggling to keep his head above water. Budi operates the white umbrella'd chairs out the front of the bar, and he too is a friendly, helpful young local.
I am just writing this message, as whilst SS Bar continues to prosper under the weight of this forum, their are other bars close by that struggle to make a $. So by all means meet at SS and drink their Esky dry, but please consider buying a 'tang or two from some of the surrounding bars as well.
I have known Abdul for about 4 years now and things have never been as desperate as now. His son is a talented student (Fadli) but at 2.500.000 rp per year, at 14, this maybe his last year of school.
