another thief wins, and drives yet another nail in the coffin of Bali. It is also sad that your very first recollection of Bali is the memory of being ripped off, rather than say a pleasant helpful person, or a welcome 'hello, thank you for coming'... There are literally thousands of such incidents with travellers and customs, taxi drivers, tour operators, money changers, police, sellers, you name it. Having travelled to many countries in the world I can definitely say Bali is the only place I have been to where bribery, theft and corruption are seemingly expected and accepted. I wonder why this is?
