I would think leaving might be easier. Arriving in Bali can be quite overwhelming, especially if they've never been. Trying to find their right lines, their bags, their driver etc. Atleast after being in Bali for a week they may feel more confident departing on their own. I've heard of many others asking other tourists for help on their way into the airport - I'm sure they will be able to find others to ask for help if they need it.
