Friend Jill recentley got back from Bali and whilst over there got pressured into signing up for time share accommodation at Peninusula Resort in Nusa Dua. Story goes something like this.
Husband went surfing for the day and Jill decided to tackle the shops of Kuta. She was approached by a guy outside Discovery with a scratchie and suprise, suprise she won a week's free accommodation if she attended a presentation(can't believe that she got sucked in. Not like she was a Bali newbie). She felt sorry for the guy(he gave her the usual story)so off she went.
At the presentation she was introduced to an Australian girl by the name of Danielle, who did the rest. Jill felt pressured by Danielle and signed a contract on the understanding that if husband wasn't happy she would get a full refund and the contract would be cancelled.Of course husband wasn't happy and Jill has been trying to cancel the contract and get a refund of her deposit ever since.
Since coming home she has even received nasty texts from Danielle who claims that she is married to a Balinese police officer and she is to watch her back if she ever returns to Bali(I don't know how Danielle sleeps at night). She has also received a letter from Peninsula Marketing asking for payments.
Jill doesn't know what to do. She's not concerned about losing the deposit now.She just wants to get out of the contract and doesn't want anything to do with them. I told her to ignore it.What can they possibly do? Jill's concern is that they will be waiting for her at the airport when she next goes to Bali. She said that she doesn't want free accommodation in Kerobokan.
I told her not to worry. What do you think she should do? Any advice appreciated. Has this happened to any one you know. What was the outcome.
