My cousin and i plan to visit Bali for one week in late October. We are struggling with the decision whether we should go to Seminyak (Hotel Anantara or The Legian - which one is better?) or to Jimbaran. We are in the mid-thirties, so a bit of life in the evening would be nice. That speaks in favour of Seminyak, however we have learned that the ocean there is dangerous because of the strong currents. As we want to enjoy swimming (or lets say bathing and splashing), we now think about Jimbaran, where the ocean is smoother.
Now my question: Is it really so dangerous to enter the ocean at Seminyak for swimming/bathing? We don't want to swim 100 meters out or so, just as long as we can stand on the ground....
Thanks in advance for your advice.
