I can relate that it is not all that safe to walk along the waters edge. My wife and grand-daughter were walking along the beach from Lucciola restaurant to Persona Hotel when a wave surge went up the beach and my grand-daughter managed to hold into the sand and stay put, but grandma went out to sea. Lucky she can swim and body surfed back to the shallows and staggered out with her shorts full of sand. She was quite shaken and the result could have been tragic. I would only swim where there are flags and lifesavers on duty.
