Not a good storey from Dewi Sri today. Currently have two 19 year olds on their first trip solo to Bali. Staying at the Dewi Sri, checking out tomorrow. The boys paid for their room on arrival one paid with his debit card, the other cashed a travellers cheque at the hotel and paid cash!Today they have been asked to pay for half of the room again - saying that the hote was not paid the cash payment!!
The boys were excited about arriving and didn't get a receipt from the receptionist - first mistake. They have no proof of payment and were forced to pay another $274 au.... luckily one paid via debit card or they would have wanted all of the payment again.
This is really very disapointing, the check in person has taken the opportunity to pocket the money, no repercussions. A very hard lesson for young guys on apprenctice wages to have to learn. We have stayed at Dewi Sri before as a family and thought this would be a decent place for them to stay, but they have taken advantage of their inexperience.
