Just back from another hectic trip to Bali and don't write JBR's as am not travelling as a tourist. However...you gotta love Air Asia!! If we choose to buy cheap deals, obviously we choose to accept the consequences...so, at $13 ea way to KL from Gold Coast (plus taxes) it was worth the drive (normally 8 hours) to catch the flight!! The closed Pac Hwy at Grafton did not phase me much...took the scenic route through lots of country towns and this only added an hour to the drive. Up early next morning to catch the 8.40am flight...got to the queue at check in to find unimpressed tourists in long line up digesting the news that the plane did not show up?? The check-in girls (who work for Virgin) were copping a bit of flack during the sorting process of where to send us all. By the time I reached the counter a lovely young girl was quite frazzled as she began the speech of: we're sorry to tell you.....etc. She was surprised to see me smiling as I asked "so where am I off to now?" She commented on how well I was taking it all compared to other tourists, to which I replied " been through it all before!!". She informed me the GC flights had only been cancelled once before and when I told her the date (end of Aug) she began apologising profusely!!! How could I be so unlucky she asked?? Oh well, S*#T happens when you fly often enough!! Anyway, our all expenses paid little holiday at Twin Towns Outrigger Resort in deluxe suite with $25 voucher for each meal wasn't hard to take!! With no plane in sight, we ended up bussed to Brisbane where they picked us up in a Malaysian Airlines Jumbo and off we flew in style same as last time!!! Were we glad we weren't flying Jetstar....you bet!! Would we fly with Air Asia again?? You bet!!
