E Passport Line on Re Entering Australia

Hi all, just read in someones JBR(archives) about how they went to an E Passport Line on re entering Aust, and how quick they got through Immigration. What's the difference between that line and the Ordinary? Passport Line. We have EPassports, so just wondering? Thanks in advance, cheers Cheryl
