All the best in your efforts to get the cash back, I get the feeling though that you will be fine.
Another way of making sure you are protected (especially on debit cards) is to let your bank know before you go and tell them that your card will only be used in Bali for a certian time. They will then put a lock on the card for any transactions outside within these dates.
We have done this plenty of times in Bali for a 100% strike rate.
