they are totally corrupt!! We were in bali last july and my camera was stolen. travel insurance suggested that we get a statement from police. We went to their office in kuta and my husband sat down with the police officer and proceded to tell him the story, as he typed it up he said to my husband "this expensive camera" my husband replied yep in australia about $400 poiceman then held up a stamp and said this is expensive too my husband replied "how much expensive and he replied maybe 100,0000 rph my husband opened his wallert(lucky he hadn't been to bank)and said I only have 50,0000 policeman said "that will do" grabed the money and stamped the statement and then we left.
