for my son and his GF, i didnt go into every detail but they were not helpful at all. They had all sorts of drama from them having under watch/guard to make sure they didnt leave the hospital with no payment and all they wanted was to get phone credit to call home for help and staff refusing to help them get credit for their phone to call perth and that no one spoke much english to them insisting on handing over money for the operation and when they did get to a perth hospital they couldnt beleive that the canula used had a steel valve or something of a sort. The dr said he hadnt seen that since the war :/ I wasnt shocked to hear that, it is a poorer country and their resources are limited. But I did expect a little more concern. The Indonesian Dr that flew him home said the surgeon on stand by was actually a student (she had spoken to him) as once the dr's gain experience they move onto better pay in Jakarta . BIMC in our opinion was more comforting with being able to get thru the language barrier. In the end some help is better than none, hey?
