I have been a big critic of this service so this trip arranged VIP so my views could be more correct and first hand rather than that of somebody that has never used it.
Arrange VIP via email before I left, very simple no fuss with informative return emails such as check luggage in last as it comes off first, added transport at the same price as taxi booth etc.
Had first row seats on plane (personal choice and not asked to do so by VIP Co) so was in arrival hall with the first bus load (A A flight) and was met by VIP rep holding name plate.
Rep had already purchased VOA in advance (with date stamp so official) I handed over passports with $25US inside each and was walked through the very first un manned immigration counter next to where visor holders and nationals queue and straight to the luggage carousel.
The rep left us at the luggage pick up for a few short mins and promptly returned with our passports containing visas.
The luggage was piled up on the floor from planes that had landed before us.
Luggage came out quick was put on a trolley by rep and was led to customs where we were asked the usual alcohol/drug/porno questions while luggage was being screened.
Led outside airport by rep where we were met by VIP organizer, paid the $30 Au with handshake and smiles as rep was loading luggage into waiting transport.
Checked in our Kuta hotel no more than 30 mins after landing and was eating a late dinner at Bamboo corner I would suggest before the first non VIP user had even left the airport because the passengers on the planes in front of us had not even collected their luggage before we had left the building.
What did I think? It was actually very good and took the entire usual stress out of arriving in Bali and I have never felt so relaxed after an international flight from landing until room check in.
Is it worth it? Every last cent even if there would have been a short queue.
Is it legal? Not a chance in hell! ( my opinion) as at no point were we ever even sighted by an immigration official and payment had to be done outside the airport and out of view.
Would I use it again? without a doubt but would be much happier if there was a separate immigration queue for VIP users as it wouldnt have taken much longer if we were presented to an official with passports in person,I think a bit of a wait wouldnt hurt anybody.
As an airport arrival "Concierge" service it was excellent and could not be faulted. An arrival VIP service in Bali is an excellent idea for both frequent and not so frequent travelers alike, I would just hope it becomes a bit more official as it seemed to lack any usual immigration protocol.
As for queue jumping, the world is an unbalanced place and always leans in the favor of those wealthy enough to make it so, weather we like it or not. Queue jumping, front row seats, first class only line, priority boarding/disembarkation Same Same really its all about what you can afford.
