If you were going to leave a tip for the staff member who makes up your room when you're staying in a resort/villa, how do you do this?
Would you tip? Is this usual practice for forumites?
In big reorts or is it more usual at small 'boutique' places where you'll probably get to know the staff?
How much is a reasonable amount?
Do you leave a tip every day or just at the end of your stay?
Where do you leave it so they'll know its a tip and not just spare change you've left behind?!
I read a (biased) report on TripAdvisor about the place we're staying at in June- the person reckoned that the staff there 'stole' their loose change when they were out of the room...wondered if it was maybe a misunderstanding and the staff though it was a tip!
