Plan, Plan, Plan or play it by ear and go with the flow?
I have been reading all the excellent JBRs and comments on here for a while now and have found them to be extremely helpful. Thanks everyone! Only a couple of weeks to go and I will have my own experience to relay.
By hook or by crook I am going to make the most of this trip (the fourth in about 20 years). So I have armed myself with information. I have a list of things to do and places to see and things to buy and food to eat.
One thing that struck me from reading all the posts here is that a lot of experiences or places in Bali can be a bit hit and miss or turn out to be disappointing. Will I be better off to stop this incessant planning and just go with the flow or do I have to book everything in advance and have a plan for every day? Considering we will be a group of 6 it could be difficult to accommodate us all for restaurant meals and tours on a ‘walk-in' basis. I also don't really like surprises and like to be prepared for every possible eventuality. Did you plan your holiday down to the finest detail and were you disappointed with how things worked out in the end or did everything go according to plan?
