is to get a train from Surabaya to Banyuwangi on Java instead of a bus. It is faster and more comfortable.
You can buy a train ticket all the way through to Denpasar from Surabaya, with the last leg being delivered via bus and arriving at Ubung in Denpasar. From Denpasar you can make your way up to Lovina by bus. I'm not sure if they do a through ticket to Lovina.
There are also lots of flights if you want to go quicker and have a few more dollars.
