If the alcohol is not properly sealed, and may leak into the aircraft in flight, officials would be within their rights to remove the alcohol.
However, some postings have been made indicating that officials are using this probably to confiscate for the end of year customs ball !!
As long as the bottle is properly sealed and packed, they have no right to remove it although you may need to stand your ground somewhat if it becomes an issue.
