Just reminising a trip we had earlier this year with a mate, where we both were involved with a cremation ceremony on the beach at Kuta. I thought it was a spectacular ceremony which made other funerals that I've attended seem a little uninteresting in comparison. One aspect of the ceremony involved the burning of the body in what looked to me like a rack of assembled banana tree trunks. They took a long time to burn, what ever they were. In come the fascinated tourists cameras-a-clicking. One Brazil nut with his bazooka length photo-lens was particularly intrusive, and the fellow who we thought was organised by the family turned out to be a blow in too. He was in everything, and eventually stepped on the grand-daughter when he was too focused on getting the perfect shot. Annoying enough, but the biggest tool award goes to the obese Euro bloke who exclaims " That's barbaric!" at the top of his voice as he steps in passed the family. This clown was wearing nothing but budgie-smugglers and thongs, and he had the ordasity to comment.
I think those bathers were far more barbaric!
