there are two main ways to Amed- the one you describe ,stopping at the places you mention will make it a full day. through candi dasa you could stop at tengana as well (bali aga village just of the main road) Be wary at Goa Lawah- the sellers are quite aggressive there-padang Bai for lunch then on to Tirta Gangga- you can spend a lot of time here then head over to Amed - another 1/2 hour or so.

Going back you can go through TirtaGangga then maybe to Amlampura-not very toruist but a lovely small city (much nicer than Denpasar), if you are early go to the market.
The other way is to go from Amed to Ujung via the coast rd.Stunning scenery and lots of small villages. Very narrow windy roads ,difficult when faced with on coming traffic but well worth it. Stop at the little villages on the way back -the locals will love it. this trip can take some hours as great care has to be taken. From Ujung through to Legian maybe another 2 1/2 to 3 hours depending on driver and traffic
