Help Needed With Laptop

would like to no info on taking my laptop to bali what i need or don't need to do.We are of to bali in six weeks it will be our 19th trip have never taken a laptop with us before.Would like to no do i have to connect to a carrier in perth before or can i just take it to bali and use the hotel internet.Any info would be great have checked the forum but can not find any info on this getting a bit worried about this as a phone place told me today if i connect with them it won't work in bali.Thank's Bali Oldgirl
