Hi, we are two mid aged couples from Melbourne (in the 40 - 50+ age bracket). We are intending to return to Bali again between the 19th - 20th August for 12 nights and were looking for a change of venue this time somewhere up in the Kuta - Legian area, close to, or preferably on the beach.
Last 3 times we all stayed at the Ramada Bintang in Tuban and found it always fabulous. Last year we just arranged a flight and accomodation package from here in Melbourne and it only cost us $1,800 per person for the 12 nights at the Ramada.
Unfortunately this year we are still on a tight budget and initial enquiries on prices have seemed to have 'gone through the roof'. We have package quotes of:-
$3,600 p/p for the Padma (which I thought we would never be able to afford anyway);
$3,200 p/p for the Mandira (also too 'exxey' for our budget), and
$2,200 p/p for the Dynasty in Tuban.
I have read and heard a lot of good stuff about the KUMALA PANTAI in Legian. Does anyone know have any recent prices for a twelve day stay?? Remember, we are looking at August for this year!
Or can anyone else recommend some other 'quality hotel / resort' within the $1,800 mark (flights and accomodation) per person anywhere in the Legian, Kuta areas.
I have also investigated the Inna and Bali Garden Resorts in Kuta. Does anyone know what these two places are like?
Is Nikki Lawson still around in the forum, or has anyone had any dealings with South Yarra Travel in Melbourne, or San Michele Travel in Sydney? These agents have been recommended to me!!!
