We Stayed at the KP in the peak period around new years eve this year. From memory we paid 830,000rp per room per night but that was with an extra bed and an extra breakfast....I think the normal rate is about 650,000 - you could check the archives from the last couple of months to get the exact rate. We dealt directly with the hotel.
So even if you paid $100/room per night including brecky that would total $1200 for accommodation. Then just check on the online websites eg: Jetstar / Virgin Blue to see what you can get your airfares for....not sure who flys to/from Melbourne - to get Garuda prices look at The zuji or best flights websites or contact Garuda direct. I think you would easily get it in at under $1800 each.
PS I think the KP sounds like it would be perfect for you....great spot too. Once you have the price for your airfares alone you can then contact the hotels you are interested in and get a price. Also you can check out the price of accommodation on the Qantas website, Agoda, Asia Rooms etc.
