Hi, I hope you will be able to give me some advise.
I have been going to Bali every year since 1991 and love the place.
This year my friends who have never been before have decided to get married while they are there, which will be fantastic.
They have want a simple service in our hotel grounds then out to a restaurant for dinner.
I have contacted the hotel and there are no problems there, and we have booked the restaurant.
I am a professional photographer so I will take their photos as my gift to them.
We have a guest who is a hairdresser and we will get the flowers form a florist there that I know.
So because they have most things covered there is no real need for a wedding planner, and also they are on a tight budget and cant really afford the huge cost.
The problem is we are not sure of what they need to do from Australia before we leave.
They have phoned the Australian embassy in Bali and know they have to go there with photos, divorce documents, birth certificates and passport, then do an intention to marry. But this is all we know.
We have 5 days from when we get into Bali till the wedding day to get things sorted.
Is there anything else like documents that the Indonesian government need to ensure the marriage will be legal and recognised in Australia?
Do they need to book a celebrant before getting to Bali?
Who do we get to do the legal service and how do we find and contact them?
How much will the service cost?
Can they have a service in a religion they choice, as they didn't have any particular religion?
If you can help answer any of these question for me I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks Tash
