Those who read by JBRs in mid-June & my posts in August may recall that I had my late mother-in-law's diamond ring remodelled by Audrey Jeweller at Kuta Paradiso. The main diamond was replaced with a diamond valued at A$600 less.
David & Moira from Pacung Indah very kindly collected a stone from Audrey a few weeks ago. Moira is now in Perth, all too briefly, & she gave it to me on Monday.
I have just heard from the gemologist that, while the stone is slightly smaller, the colour is better. It is worth the same as the stone I originally provided. I am happy.
I am pleased and relieved that this is finally over. I commend Audrey for resolving the matter honestly. It would've been easy for her to blame her (soon to be ex) partner (who I originally dealt with & disliked) and not bother with me.
I found Audrey to be a pleasant person and I believe that she was misled by her partner & workman. Once she saw the original & subsequent valuations she agreed to replace the stone in question.
It'd cost me heaps to have the ring remodelled so I have arranged to pay Audrey the wholesale value of the diamond in my ring & I'll have something made with the better stone sometime in the future. Audrey did say I could keep the smaller stone but I prefer to give her the money especially as she plans on starting a business on her own. I wish her luck.
So, all's well that ends well, aye.
