Scootering from Ubud to Kuta

I will be staying in Ubud for the first time over the Christmas period and would like to hire a scooter for my short stay.
Is it difficult to find your way down to Kuta?
I have previously only stayed in Kuta and once taken a day trip to Ubud.
Seemed pretty confusing in the taksi.
Any maps or other tips anyone can offer?
