to smell the grass still.
Firstly, I never said the chickens are organic, just that they have no preservatives (unless you class paint flakes, fertiliser, etc. as some new form of preservatives !)
Secondly, I am indicating that, for me and all others who have dined here, there has been no problem eating the chicken from pasar. If your stomach is a little delicate I feel sorry for you, always having to eat only at restaurants and missing out on the local delights for 18 years. Your "common sense" must preclude you from eating from any traditional warungs, carts, or similar. And how do you ever eat the filthy, contaminated vegetables on display at the supermarkets... touched by all those dirty hands soiled with dirty rupiah and washed in dirty water from dirty water sources polluted by ayam kampung... or do they use Aqua to wash the vegetables also ?
And the next time you are buying your "western owned, hygienic, refrigerated" chicken at Canggu watch how often the girl packing it sneezes, and then ask her if she washed her hands in bottled water and soap when she came to work or after lunch, or how often she changes her gloves (if she wears them) before cross-contaminating anything.
But then, you didn't mention whether you had ever had problems with ayam pasar or just decided that it is worth slandering ("nasty" being a very non-specific description).
Try getting off your own high horse... but be carefull, it will be a long fall.
And, I am guessing you know plenty more about ayam kampung than me... intimately.
