Need a Bit of Friendly Advice???

Not been to Bali for loooong time and need some advice & opinions on few things. We are two late 20's/early 30's couples going in March. Firstly, should we be worried about the safety of our luggage ala Chapelle Corby (my Dad is stressing!!!)? We are looking at staying at the Febri's Hotel & Spa - any opinions? We would like a fairly new hotel (2005+) under Aus$70.00 per day with all usual amenities but not in the heart of noisy Kuta (so edges of Kuta, Legian, Tuban etc.). Doesn't need to be on the Beach - we are happy with the Hotel pool. Any advice would be much appreciated! Cheers!
