Best travel accessories?

(Besides someone to carry all your stuff)

On my list are:
water boiler immerser
a bit of plastic string and pegs .. after hotel bathrooms which only had doorknobs and the sink plumbing.

Am looking for a best travel handbag ever (especially for plane travel) and a foldup umbrella that doesn't ######### automatically turn inside out as soon as there's a bit of wind.
Also any other travel stuff tourists cannot do without :)
