on my last installment, which wasnt that long!!!
Firstly its soooooo hot here!!!! Im melting but at least there is a pool to cool down in not far from the Bali Cyber Cafe.
An aussie couple well business partners anyway, have started up an initiative to educate locals in swimming....a brilliant idea and one that hopefully will really take off, I take my hat off to them. Maybe it will prevent all those horrific drownings of young ones, that seem to happen, not so infrequently.
Bali Renang is the name of the pool by the way and Christopher and Vicki are the people running it.
Also if anyone wants to use a fantastically equipped and inexpensive gym, the Dynasty is opening its gym doors for outsiders and as its one of the very few airconditioned gyms in Bali, its a brilliant opportunity to keep up the exercise (if thats what you do) whilst youre on holidays.
Im not sure of the prices yet, but Im certainly taking advantage of it and with their large swimming pool for doing laps, the overall package is just brilliant.
I have looked at a few gyms around as Im not getting any slimmer and even though Hammerhead and Sam's ( a newish one in Melasti St), are brilliantly equipped and with aerobics etc, they ARENT airconditioned, I just couldnt survive I dont think!!!
Anyway if you are interested just contact the Dynasty and tell them that shauna mentioned it to you and ask for Didit, hes the assistant general manager, and is organising it all.
Galungan and Kuningan Days were very interesting, I awoke to pigs being slaughtered (the days before) down the end of the gang, and by the sounds of it, they werent doing too good a job, ventured down there after all noise had subsided and by then, the inners were being washed in water and the pig was unrecognisable!!!! A group of people from the banjar will normally put money together for these occassions and join in the slaughtering and then divvy up the proceeds, makes for some delicious eating thats for sure.
Have done some other interesting stuff and certainly had some fun with people off the forum, annie you mad thing, cant wait until you are back.
Hope Nicki is recovering well and talk to her from time to time. Also another lovely person is trish ryder, caught up with her a while ago and hope to see her again in Jan. when shes here.
Anyway had better sign off and go and do......well something!!!!
