Hi guys, I am off unexpectedly Sunday and wondered if any forumites are there or will be there Sunday on...It is not really a holiday. Some of you may remember I am back in Aus. now for nine months after living in Kuta for two years and this time I go for only a quick trip unfortunately. I need to take prayers and good thoughts with me as my daughter came to live in Bali for one year while I was there and met a really nice man and lived over there with his family and then me and he is still her partner. He has been to stay with her here for three months and I knew he had had a bag bike accident two years before and as happens over there, could not afford treatment.
Since then he has walked with bad limp and had much pain, so I had a specialist look at him in Melboure, gratis, and he referred him on and around all his colleagues, again gratis, and the conclusion was he needs his leg amputated which we could not afford and he had to go back on visa grounds anyway. So..my surgeon had him referred to a specialist in jakarta and by the time he could see him, the infection has spread and it now has to be taken quite high. He and we cannot afford the jakarta surgeon with the six months rehab. so it is being done in Malang and god knows how he will cope after. Its the post op I am worried about, my daughter and I have to come back on 7th but I dont think they know just how hard and dangerous it will be. He has been told he can have someone elses wooden leg but if we want overseas (i.e. Australia) limb, it will cost as much as a unit. Anyway all I can do is be there, taking bandages, powders etc, antibiotics. How the hell I get there I dont know, but think i can fly to Surabaya and take it from there. My daughter is being picked up in Kuta by her partner and then they are RIDING back there. She has done it once before....13 hours I think. On the good side , he is a very good artist and will still be able to paint. We just want to get him well enough to get him out here on spousal visa. Sorry for offloading...but wish us luck.
