Where ere you drive, by night or day
You'll see the Crosses stark,
Where loved ones bled their lives away
Before they faced the dark.
Some drank and drove and some were caught
By speed, that filthy thief
Who didn't care what tears he brought
To relatives in grief.
The mothers who have lived distressed
The fathers left distraught,
Remember well how they were bless'd
Before all came to naught.
How often must we Crosses see,
Just watch them multiply?
Without our thinking 'you or me'
Will we be next to die?
The message sinks so slowly in,
How can we be so dense?
Our hurtling chariots of tin
Just will not jump a fence!
Please let us all be resolute,
Acknowledge this dread load.
The speed and drinking of our youth,
Whilst Crosses line each road.
