Silly Jetstar ?

OK, here goes. Is the peice of paper we got from Jetstar basically our ticket, or do we actually get a "proper" ticket.
Second silly one is, my hubby forgot to get extra baggage allowance, I'm assuming we can buy that when we leave?
Can't wait for December 8!!
