If before leaving Bali you got to a Proxl shop and put 200,000 rupiah on it the card will remain valid with credit for 6 months. As far as I know you cant top up in Australia, but if you know someone in Bali, the girls at the Proxl told me that if someone in Bali tops it up for you over there then you will get the credit on your phone even if not in Indonesia.

I havent tried this as I dont use it in Australia, and I always top up with 200K rp the day I am leaving. You actually get a print out which shows the date of expiry for the credit. I have been told it has to be done at a Proxl shop and done electronically, not a scratchy card recharge.
