Believe the same can be done with Telkomsel. Mic has information on her website if you go and have a look on there she has a section all about mobile phones, recharges etc.
Still a few weeks before I head back so not getting too excited yet but will be very happy to get out of this cold weather.
As to other cheap alternatives for calling Bali, the best I could suggest is to buy a phone card from the Post office or newsagent.
These can be topped up by credit card and are good value for money. I used to use Daybreak which had pretty good rates to Bali. The only problem I have found with the phone cards is that often the lines are a bit crappy, but other times I found them to be very good. You dont use your mobile with these but your home landline. Maybe buy one and give it a go. I think you can start with as little as $10 so not a huge outlay.
