As to smoking I would dare to write that the Balinese are extremely positive as to smoking, even from a very young age and the rules are according to their attitudes and thinking as Bali, after all, is where they live. The tourists are only guests in this fantastic island.
Since you did not use the word "trash" in conjunction with either "Ozzie" or "Japs" you obviously do not consider them as trash although using "Japs" for Japanese is a derogatory remark as such. I am getting more and more surprised at the (somewhat?) hostile tone on the Bali Travel Forum nowadays.
No wonder the world is what it is nowadays.
