Dazza i have been to Bali 10 times & have never been ripped off.I tried one of those money changes who offer top $. I went in just to see how they do it.After they finish counting it the guy picked up the money & pretended to bounce it on the table to get it into a neat pile.Notes drop down at the back of the table onto the floor. I picked up my Aussie money & said mate don't play games with me & walked out.
