I followed this thread, without intending to reply, however Dazza you can't be for real. Sure there are rip-off merchants in Bali (as there are in most countries) but you must be walking around with a sign around your neck saying 'Rip Me Off'. Most intelligent people learn from experience. If you are as well travelled as you say and you are still being ripped off to the extent that you say then the question probably answers itself. Well I say take the sign off and stop travelling. In saying this be careful at home, because a report in the Sydney Sunday Papers highlighted the large number of Australians falling prey to con artists scamming from all over the world.
