pre covid there was talk of a "cultural" payment, with those funds going towards supporting Balis cultural development and similar.
Should Indonesia introduce such a high visa entry price it will deter family groups and the monies go to Jakarta as opposed to Bali, as would be the case with the cultural scheme.
Introduction of both would be a significant deterrent when compared with rival destinations.
Let's hope that common sense prevails and that reasonable pricing allows the recovery to continue in the current fashion.
