"Beach clubs"......

A recent trend has been the buying up of beachfront land in order to establish "Beach Club" type places to replace perhaps a dozen or so local warung type places who may have operated there for many years.
In my view, this is a great shame, as it exchanges local vibe unique places with just another globally branded place, built to pander for the posers and travelling elite, and brings Bali closer to soulless faux Asia like Singapore or similar.
The trend seems to have used the pandemic as a conduit to change, shifting local traders out and establishing turf management conditions to suit large corporate outcomes.
I don't care a toss about the likes of KuDeTa or Potato Head, Finns or whatever, but I see the loss of local traders in exchange for just another expensive posers place as a great shame and in no way strengthening Balis position as a place where one can mix with the locals at a reasonable price, to just another Asian money grabbing place.
I hope at least some beachfront is reserved for those who want to sit on an "uncontrolled" beach and enjoy having a cheap beer with local traders.
