The last 15 trips, I bring enough cash and have the card as a back up only. I forgot to get some extra cash at the ATM at Melbourne airport. Apart from yesterday, I haven't used an ATM in Bali for years and years. Just got back from a walk near that dodgy ATM in JL Tamblingan, and there was a young Australian guy taping a sign on the machine that said "out of order". He said that the same thing happened to him, and whilst I was speaking to him, two Australian ladies came over and said they lost money too.
