I have done the same thing, built a villa for my and the families use and I couldn't be happier. There is a reasonable amount of maintenance my water pump is playing up but hey for $90 not expensive to replace and some of the render work needs patching but had some builder friends check it out during construction and all agreed it was to a good building standard. Certainly not a moneymaking choice for me just about lifestyle.
