2 years ago we stayed in a hotel in Monkey Forest road and the power went out in the afternoon. It came back on not long after. We thought nothing more of this. We were headed out for dinner later that night and when we were near the front of the hotel, we had staff ask where we were headed to. We answered that we were going to dinner, they made some comment that we did not quite understand. Once we were on the street we realized that the power was still out and our hotel had a generator. Needless to say we ate that night a the hotels restaurant. We always take torches with us and have them with us at night.
