I'm planning an extended stay in Bali, at least five months, and I want to find bargain accommodation. By cheap, I mean really cheap - perhaps $5 or $7 a day. During my last trip to Bali I stayed in modest guesthouses, the sort that are available for as low as $12/night on sites such as airbnb. (I don't mind using cold water to bathe, to put this in perspective).
What I'm wondering is whether the local guesthouse owners will be easy to bargain down to that sort of price for a longer-term guest. I have some leads already - but I haven't settled on what region to stay in, yet. So I'd be grateful for any tips, suggestions or resources bearing on this.
