I come from a 'flying family' of pilots most of whom now deceased so i cant pick their brains about this topic sadly. However i do recall the horrendous time one member had dealing with CASA while trying to kick start his 'tourism venture' with an old DC3 and it was a nightmare of political crap with a LOT of hidden agenda I felt.
When it comes to AA I have to say that lets look at who is up front ??!! Hello pilots are usually considered to be pretty smart in the neuron dept so seriously lets trust that they also have NO DESIRE to end up dead and so they would want their plane 'well oiled' and I like to think they would take a reasonably serious interest in their own flight path so their journey ends well too !!
I flew Air Asia to Bali 4 times last year and had not one complaint, my son & partner went Jet* and complained bitterly and were delayed by 4 hours !~! I win... and i will keep flying AA...
My dad said to me after our Xmas trip..."I dont want you flying AA again just to save a few dollars it too much risk".. My answer was "I fly with them cause they are nice, on time and have best flight times that suit me and I have a greater chance of being struck by lightening"......... This now comes back to haunt me as it was my pay officer who was struck by lightening and killed in Bayswater this week...very sad but erie after what I had said !!!
