There is no reason at all that their planes should be serviced here considering they are a foreign airline.
As you say Air Asia is NOT banned from E.U. airspace and I am unaware that A/A have ever shown an interest in flying to the U.S. but I doubt that all A/A airplanes are AUTHORIZED to fly into the E.U. airspace as they would have to submit an interest in flying there to the respective governments of the countries they wish to fly to, Garuda WAS banned due to various incidents and possibly safety reasons, so much so that when they bought either a or some new planes from Airbus they had to be registered in Europe (and I think painted with the relative livery) then flown into Indonesia and re-registered and re-painted to Garuda specs.
Air Asia itself is basically a franchise business so I imagine that each branch of A/A would need to get it's own approvals and permits rather than there being just one blanket approval, and also the vast majority of the aircraft used by A/A do not have the flying capacity to fly to the E.U. or U.S.A without at 1 or more stops, with the exception of the several "branch" versions of the A/A X airline.
I personally do not believe we will ever get told the full truth of the unfortunate crash as it apparently in the hands of the Indonesians who have proven themselves incompetent in these things as evidenced by them supposedly allowing the allegedly unauthorised flight from Surabaya (though it was authorised for 7 days per week into Singapore)and the fiasco of the Indonesian Air Asia x flights from Bali to Melb still not being authorized by them but apparently allowed by the Australian Government.
