Do you want to know why certain attractions have different prices for locals and tourists?

Well... for one, some of those "attractions" are actually places of worship for locals and sightseeing places for us...

And more importantly - a local would do well to warn $300 per month. Some of us.. earn that or more per day! Worst case your probably on $100 per day.

By the way... this is common world wide, especially in poorer developing countries.

As for VOA and departure tax.
Departure tax would be in the price of your ticket if it wasn't collected at point of exit. Again - common practice. I'vs experienced this in Thailand, and New Zealand.
VOA - better than having to apply in apply in advance. If I wanted to go to India my visa would be in the region of $160.

Bali is still very cheap. Get out of the south and its even cheaper.
