Virgin extra luggage

Will be my first time using Virgin to Bali in feb. Is the only way to prebook extra luggage by paying $65 for an extra bag? I cant see any other option in their website wg purchasing an extra amount of kilos for example. I know I will go over the allotted luggage allowance but usually only by 5 kilos-ish, so $65 seems excessive!
